Colibri pipe lighter issues?

Hello, I got a new Colibri butane lighter recently, it doesn't use a flint, it uses that "electro-quartz" spark. It spits out butane and sparks but does not ignite. I even went out and bought the Colibri butane to see if it would help but it did not. It only lights now if i hold it right up close to a surface. Is this how it is suppose to be? I was going to send it in for repairs but their website says not to send in anything right now. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

I'm not really sure what category this should go under, sorry if it is in the wrong one.|||Try emptying out the butane completely, then refill it with triple refined butane (like their own or King). If it still spudders then take a little flat head screwdriver and turn the dial on the bottom towards the plus mark a little bit at a time until you get it working. Past that, it has to be serviced by them.|||If you look at the valve where you fill it at, there should be an place to adjust the flame.Try turning it down, about a 1/8 a turn and see if it lights up. Be careful not to damage the little stem on the fill valve though.Only make small adjustments one at a time so as not to damage the valve. Fill lighter upside down, same with fuel canister.
