How does Aguila colibri and super colibri .22 ammo work?

Isn't silence the best way to blast squirrels!?|||The Colibri and Super Colibri are made with no gunpowder, only primer compound. The Super Colibri has extra primer compound, giving it higher velocity specifically so it can be safely used in rifles.

I shoot the SC out of a Savage bolt action rifle or a Henry lever action rifle in my house. The report from the gun is so quiet I can barely hear it. The WHACK of the bullet into a B%26amp;H catalog, however, is rather loud.

I'd be wary of using these for squirrels. The velocity is so low, you have a maximum range of around 20 yards, and a maximum accurate range of about 10. If you can get within 30 feet of a squirrel, you'll probably kill it.

Look into the CCI CB Long or CB Short. They are reduced-power .22 loads, still quiet enough to be shot without hearing protection, but pushing slightly heavier bullets at slightly higher velocities. Lots of folks swear by the CB loads for backyard vermin extermination in suburban areas.|||The super Colibri should not be used in a rifle, as it may not have enough velocity to exit the muzzle. I suggest that you use CB Shorts. Plenty quiet enough, more energy, longer range.|||when it comes to squirrels and other small game, a bullet's a bullet, and it's gonna die

aim for the head so you can get some meat outta it
